In the first article, Valeria Pomini and her partners analyze data collected from the family therapy Unit of Eginition Hospital and how family problems emerge during the therapy session in the years of economic crisis. This analysis helps us understand how the biopsychosocial model works.

The distress of adoptees

We are witnessing a transformation in the categories of children placed for adoption, and therefore the subsequent transformation of adoption, which is increasingly becoming an option for those children who have lived through traumatic experiences, maltreatment and sexual abuse, and who arrive in their adoptive family with a burden of suffering, distress and confusion.
