COOKIES POLICY

Last updated: October 2026

1. Purpose of this Cookies Policy

The Hellenic Systemic Thinking and Family Therapy Association (HESTAFTA), based at 3 Papadiamantopoulou St., 11528 Athens, Greece, and legally represented by Nikolaos Marketos (Chairman of the Board), respects your privacy while you browse hestafta.org (the "Website"). This Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the Website uses, what information they collect, what they are for and how you can manage them.

Detailed information on how we process your personal data and on your rights is in our Privacy Policy, published on the Website.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or other device (e.g. a mobile phone or tablet) when you visit a website. They let the website remember certain information for a period of time, so that you do not have to enter it again every time you visit or move from one page to another.

In this Policy, "cookies" also covers other technologies that work in a similar way, such as your browser's local storage, which the Website uses only to remember your cookie choice.

3. Types of cookies

By how long they last, cookies are:

  • Session cookies, which are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies, which stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

By who sets them, cookies are:

  • First-party cookies, set by the Website itself.
  • Third-party cookies, set by other providers whose services are embedded in the Website (e.g. Google, Stripe).

4. Legal framework and consent

Under article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006 and the guidance of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, information may be stored on your device, or read from it, only with your consent, given after clear and complete information. Cookies that are technically necessary for the Website to work, or to provide a service you have explicitly asked for (e.g. a payment), are exempt.

For this reason:

  • On your first visit, a message at the bottom of the page lets you accept or reject the non-essential cookies with the same number of clicks.
  • Until you make your choice, no non-essential cookie is set and the Website does not load Google Analytics.
  • Your choice is stored on your device and stays in force until you change it or clear your browser's data.
  • You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the , which are also at the bottom of every page.
