The Hellenic Systemic Thinking and Family Therapy Association (HE.S.T.A.F.T.A) is a scientific association that brings together mental health professionals (psychiatrists, child psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers) who have completed certified training in family therapy and work regularly with families and couples.
HESTAFTA was founded in 1998 with the following main objectives:
- The promotion of systemic psychotherapy with families, couples, individuals, groups and larger systems in order to effectively treat and prevent mental disorders and promote mental health.
- The training of mental health experts in family psychotherapy and in general the awareness of the professionals of health and human sciences in systemic thinking and the systemic interventions that are applied.
- To facilitate the communication and cooperation between psychotherapists and scientists of different trends and approaches in psychotherapy.
