Motivated from the book “The Act of Transference” written by S. Manolopoulos, the use and application of transference from therapists working with systemic approach is questioned. Consideration and reflection upon therapeutic relationship and especially its application on individual systemic psychotherapy was a bit delayed.

Psychoanalytic Ideas in Systemic Therapy: a Case Study

In families we see interpersonal and intrapersonal levels as intertwined. Thus emerges the need to address both. Quite often, when working with families and couples we have come across areas where systemic and psychoanalytic theories interconnect. In this paper we identify some of these issues: that of emotional experience and of therapeutic relationship.
